Plan a tile order from the net surface area and the size of one tile. The calculator includes a configurable cutting and breakage allowance, then rounds the quantity up so partial tiles or boxes do not leave the project short.
How to use it

Measure the net floor or wall area and keep all dimensions in consistent units.

Enter the length and width of one tile, including the actual nominal size used for ordering.

Apply a waste allowance appropriate to the room shape and laying pattern, then round up to full boxes.
Formula and methodology
Tiles required = floor area ÷ tile area × (1 + waste rate). Tile area must first be converted into the same unit as the floor area.
Worked calculation example
A 200 sq ft floor covered with 24-by-24-inch tiles needs 50 tiles before waste. With a 10% allowance, the order estimate becomes 55 tiles.
What can affect the result?
Layout pattern
Diagonal, herringbone and centred layouts usually create more offcuts.
Batch matching
Buying all boxes together reduces the risk of later shade or calibre differences.
Breakage reserve
Keeping a few matching tiles helps with future repairs.
