How this calculator helps

Estimate the income tax deducted from a salaried person and see monthly take-home pay. Rates are versioned by tax year so past calculations remain reproducible when the federal budget changes.

How to use it

  1. 1

Enter gross monthly salary and any regularly taxable allowances.

  2. 2

Add other monthly deductions only when you want them reflected in take-home pay.

  3. 3

Compare the estimate with the tax-year rules and payroll calculation used by your employer.

Formula and methodology

Annual tax is calculated progressively: each rate applies only to the income portion inside its corresponding slab.

Worked calculation example

For a PKR 150,000 monthly salary, the annual salary is PKR 1.8 million. The calculator applies the selected year’s progressive slabs and divides annual tax into monthly withholding.

What can affect the result?

Tax year

Federal salary slabs can change with each Finance Act.

Other income

Business, property or investment income may alter an individual's final liability.

Credits and exemptions

Eligible credits, exemptions and special treatment are outside this quick estimate.

Limits of this estimate

This is a salary-only planning estimate and not a tax return, legal interpretation or confirmation of current FBR withholding.
