Generated dates are fictional test data, not real identity records. How this calculator helps
The random birthday generator creates fictional date-of-birth samples for a selected Gregorian date range. Set the first and last eligible dates, choose a count and decide whether dates must be unique. The tool samples actual calendar days, so a leap-day date is possible only when that day exists inside the selected range. A separate reference date determines the displayed completed age. Generate results explicitly and download a CSV containing the ISO date, displayed date, completed age and reference date. This is useful for form demonstrations, fictional characters and software tests. The output is not a list of real people, a population sample or proof of anybody’s identity.
How to use it
- 1
Choose the first and last eligible dates; both endpoints are included.
- 2
Set the reference date used for completed ages.
- 3
Request 1–200 samples and optionally require unique dates.
- 4
Choose a display format and optional oldest-first sorting.
- 5
Click Generate birthdays, inspect the retained results, and download CSV if needed.
Formula and methodology
There are N = (last date − first date)/86,400,000 + 1 eligible UTC calendar days. A browser random value is mapped to an unbiased integer offset by rejection sampling. Unique mode uses a partial shuffle without replacement. Completed age compares the birth month and day with the supplied reference date.
The calculator applies the displayed arithmetic to the values entered on this device. It does not silently load a local tax rate, currency conversion or commercial assumption.
Worked calculation example
The inclusive range 2024-02-28 through 2024-03-01 contains three dates: February 28, February 29 and March 1. Requesting three unique birthdays returns all three in a shuffled or sorted order; requesting four unique dates is rejected. On a reference date of 2026-02-28, the February 28 sample is two completed years old, while the February 29 and March 1 samples are one. This page uses March 1 as the non-leap-year anniversary for a February 29 age calculation. If a sample lies after the reference date, it is labeled a future date and receives no age value in the CSV.
How to interpret your result
A result row has two independent pieces: a sampled birth date and an age derived from the chosen reference. The date is random; the age calculation is deterministic. The table is therefore useful for testing formatting and boundary behavior, but it should not be interpreted as a statistical representation of real births.

Scenario comparison
| Scenario | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Leap-year boundary | A three-day range from 2024-02-28 to 2024-03-01 contains one leap-day date. |
| Unique capacity | Four unique results cannot be produced from a three-date range. |
| Future sample | A birth date after the reference is marked as future instead of displaying a negative age. |
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing equal probability per day with equal probability per month.
- Using the generated date as evidence of a real identity or legal age.
- Importing day-first CSV text as month-first dates without checking the receiving application.
For a small range, list every eligible day and request all dates in unique mode. Verify the endpoints and leap day. Check completed age with a before-birthday, birthday and after-birthday reference, and inspect the downloaded ISO column against the visible sample.
Authoritative reference. The browser Web Cryptography API supplies random values. Inclusive date counting, rejection mapping, unique selection and age calculation are disclosed independent implementations; no demographic dataset is loaded.Build useful test fixtures
A form test should separate ordinary examples from boundary cases. A random list may contain plausible dates but miss the exact cases that often reveal bugs: the last day of a month, leap day, a birthday on the reference date or the first eligible date. Use this generator for varied samples, then add deliberate boundary cases to the test plan. Do not expect one random run to establish that every date-handling rule is correct.
Keep the downloaded file when you need a reproducible fixture. A later run intentionally produces another sample, even with the same settings, because there is no seed or stored generation history. The retained table and CSV use the same submitted settings, so editing the page cannot silently alter an already generated sample before download.
Understand what uniform sampling means
Each eligible calendar day has the same selection probability before unique-mode removal. A thirty-one-day month therefore contains more eligible days than a twenty-eight-day month. Selecting a month uniformly first and a day second would be a different distribution. This tool samples the day directly, which avoids inventing February 30 and makes the inclusive range definition easy to inspect.
A reference date is not a maximum birth date. You can deliberately include future dates when testing a form’s rejection behavior. Such rows keep their date but leave completed years empty. If you need only historical birthdays, set the range’s final date on or before the reference. The generator provides control over eligibility; it does not infer the policy of the application receiving the data.
What can affect the result?
Date range
A date range controls eligibility, not the age distribution of a real population. A sample from a fifty-year range assigns probability to individual days. It does not reproduce birth rates, seasonal trends or enrollment patterns.
Unique samples
Unique mode prevents repeated dates in one submitted output. Different people can share a birthday in real life, so uniqueness is a testing preference rather than a realism guarantee. A new generation can reuse dates from an earlier run.
Reference date
Age depends on the date used for comparison. Fix that date in a test case instead of letting a fixture change every day. The CSV includes the submitted reference so the completed-age result can be reproduced later.
Formatting
ISO dates remain available even when the visible display uses month-first or day-first order. Select a format expected by the receiving system, and verify that spreadsheet software has not reinterpreted the imported text.
Privacy and browser processing
Values entered on this page are processed in the current browser session. SolvePilot does not require an account and does not receive the values entered into the calculator. Refreshing or closing the page clears the working values unless the browser itself restores a previous session. Avoid entering identifying or account information because the calculation needs summary values only.
Accuracy and verification
Accuracy depends first on input quality. Confirm definitions, scales, dates and source information before entering a value. Keep an independent record of any result used for planning because this page does not create an official statement or retain a calculation history.
Limits of this estimate
Uniform fictional calendar-date samples only, with at most 200 rows per generation. No real identity lookup, demographic weighting, zodiac claim, age-verification bypass or realistic person record is created. A secure browser random source is required; the tool does not create authentication credentials.

Frequently asked questions
Can I generate random birthdays without duplicates?+
Yes. Select No duplicate dates. The requested count must be no greater than the number of days in the inclusive range.
Does the birthday generator include February 29?+
Yes, when an actual February 29 falls inside the selected range. Invalid dates such as February 30 are never eligible.
Can I download the birthday list?+
Yes. Download CSV after generating. The file includes an ISO birth date, the selected display format, completed years where applicable and the reference date.
Are these real dates of birth?+
They are valid calendar dates generated as fictional samples. They do not identify people or establish that somebody was born on a selected date.
Why do the results stay unchanged when I edit the range?+
The table and download retain the last submitted sample. Click Generate birthdays to create a new sample using the edited settings.
