Formula and methodology
Battery energy ≈ capacity in Ah × 3.85 V. Charging time = battery energy ÷ charger watts × (1 + loss and taper allowance).
Worked calculation example
A 5,000 mAh battery stores about 19.25 Wh. At an effective 25 W and a 35% allowance, the idealised estimate is roughly one hour.
